Start a Student OCA-DC (SOCA-DC) High School Chapter and Make a Lasting Impact!
Are you a high school student looking to make a meaningful difference in your community? Look no further! OCA-DC invites you to be a part of our dynamic and empowering movement by forming a student SOCA-DC high school chapter in your own school!
Why start a SOCA-DC High School Chapter?
Empowerment
OCA-DC High School Chapters empower you to be a catalyst for change by addressing critical issues affecting AANHPIs in your school community.
Stand up for justice, inclusivity, and equality, and be a leader among your peers.
Advocacy

Your chapter will collaborate with OCA-DC and its partners to advocate for policies that promote equity and justice for all.
Leadership
Gain invaluable leadership skills through organizing events, coordinating campaigns, and engaging in community service.
As an OCA-DC High School Chapter leader, you’ll grow personally and professionally, setting yourself apart for future endeavors.
Network Expansion
Connect with like-minded individuals who share your passion for creating change.
Collaborate with OCA-DC’s vast network of professionals, mentors, and activists, and forge relationships that will support your journey beyond high school.
Impact
By joining forces with OCA-DC, you’ll have the platform and resources to make a tangible impact on the lives of AANHPIs.
Contribute to community-building initiatives, promote cultural awareness, and shape a more inclusive future.
What will you do as part of OCA-DC's High School Chapter?
- Lead situational awareness workshops at your own high school. These workshops will equip students with the strategies they need to safely intervene as a bystander. By taking charge of these workshops, you’ll play a vital role in cultivating a safer and more inclusive environment within your school community.
- Organize OCA-DC High School Chapter events and mobilize students at your school. As a SOCA-DC representative, you’ll be in charge of collaborating with fellow students from different high schools and organizing events at your school. You’ll have the opportunity to organize and spearhead a range of captivating events (e.g., workshops) that raise awareness and foster dialogue.
- Advocate for the issues you care about. Be the advocate for the issues you deeply care about. Discover diverse avenues to amplify your voice and effect change. As part of SOCA-DC, you’ll have the freedom to explore various platforms such as podcasts, writing and art projects, and volunteer initiatives.
Altogether, these initiatives allow you to raise awareness, engage with your peers, and ignite conversations that challenge perceptions and inspire action.
